摘要

Flood is a devastating natural hazard in the world. It damages agriculture, industry, residence, economics, and human health. North Korea (NK) has suffered flood damage almost every year since 1995. Especially, there was serious flood at Hoeryeong City in NK hit by Typhoon Lionrock on 30th August 2016. It resulted in many people died and homeless. There is a possibility that NK land use change has increased the probability of flood occurrence and susceptibility of flood damage than usual. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the relationship between land use change and flood in order to prevent or mitigate flood damage resulting from land use change. Remote Sensing (RS) can be used to detect land use change, and delineate Flood Damaged Areas (FDAs). Also, Geographic Information System (GIS) based logistic regression model can modify FDAs. Therefore, the objective of this study was to investigate the flood effect by land use change using multiple RS data, Digital Elevation Model data, and GIS techniques. Eventually it contributes to providing the basic information to mitigate the flood damage after reunification.
