Remote-Lab with Triple Planes for Remote Experiments on an Open Optical Network Testbed

We established an open remote-lab environment for the OPCI network testbed. This environment enables the remote experiments with the remotely-located testbed resources including not only the data-plane, control-plane, but also the measurement instruments from the optical layer to the IP layer. The test-plane is one of the key components in the remote-lab enabled network. For testbeds, this test-plane is helpful for the secured and easy remote experiments. For future network services, e.g., network virtualization services, we can take advantage of the automated network test capability with the test-plane to validate the network resource provisioning, network configurations, which may involve the complicated endto- end test tasks across multiple layers. Further investigation is seen as the future work.
