The transport of the non-uniform bed load is a complicated coherent physical process of the fluid and solid in river. Researches on the motion characteristics, transport laws as well as the action mechanism of the key factors are both helpful to develop the hydraulic theory and solve the engineering sediment problems. Based on the technologies of the image recognition and the instant monitoring for the bed load, series of flume experiments were carried out. Image recognition technology is used to recognize the number of the various size particles in the image taken by the high speed camera, which is meaningful to investigate the transport progress of the bed load.
