Present scenario requires methods for treatment of industrially waste water polluted with hazardous chemicals and dyes. This work reports efficient utilization of nano-ceramic 'hydroxyapatite' for degradation of Indigo Carmine dye present in waste water under ultra violet light illumination. The photo-catalytic experiment is carried out via artificially polluting water with Indigo Carmine dye at three different dye concentration (5, 10, and 20 mg/L) in presence of hydroxyapatite nano-powder (25 mg). After 180 min ultra violet light illumination, almost 63, 61 and 43 % dye degradation is observed in above dye solution. Treatment of such dye polluted water is necessary for making it usable water for society and for the development of sustainable ecosystem.
