Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) is widely recognized as one of the most costly diseases impacting pork production in the US. 'Modified live virus (MLV) vaccines like Fos-tera~RPRRS and Ingelvac PRRS~RMLV are widely used to help mitigate the impact of field PRRS V introductions. Performance data for both of these MLV vaccines have demonstrated efficacy against genetically divergent PRRSV strains but have never been compared directly against one anothet in the US.2,3 Therefore, the objective of this study was to compare the immunological response, shedding profiles and production performance between Fostera~RPRRS and Ingelvac PRRS'MLV in the face of a lineage 1 PRRSV challenge.
