Recently, with the deepening of the oil and gas exploration, the improvement of computing capacity and the development of the processing method, multiple problems attracted the attention of the people. In this paper, the recent research progress of multiple problems is reviewed, So far in almost all dealing with seismic, there are two main ideas for multiple problems. In the first way, multiples have been regarded as regular noises which are suppressed in prestack preprocessing. It is called multiple elimination method which can be divided into two categories: one is the filter method and the other is the prediction method. The filter method is based on velocity difference and periodicity of multiple. The prediction method based on wave equation can deal with the complex seismic data of an underground structure. Another way is making use of the multiple to image, where the multiples are regarded as estimable signal; this approach is the richness and development of the true amplitude seismic processing algorithm which is required for complex structural hydrocarbon reservoirs and lithologic reservoirs exploration.
