The effect of A1_2O_3 addition on dielectric properties of PbO-SrO-Na_2O-Nb_2O_5-SiO_2 glass-ceramic has been investigated. DTA data indicated that the crystallization temperature of niobate ferroelectric phases can be decreased by adding a proper content of Al_2O_3. The XRD analysis method demonstrated that Al~(3+) remained in the glass phase for no new phase appeared when A1_2O_3 was added to the precursor. The results showed that the dielectric properties of the niobate glass-ceramic were greatly influenced by A1_2O_3, and the highest dielectric constant (492) and lowest dielectric loss (0.007) were got by adding 1 mol% A1_2O_3, when the content of A1_2O_3 exceeded 1 mol%, the dielectric constant had a slight decrease and the dielectric loss increased.
