On the generation and evaluation of a complete sudoku puzzle

摘要

The Sudoku puzzle has attracted great attention through its easy logic yet abstruse nature. However, most existing approaches are concentrated on its solution rather than its generation and rating. This paper intends to provide a Sudoku designer with a framework for the systematic generation of a complete Sudoku by utilizing the binary integer programming (bintprog) procedure in Matlab, as well as the evaluation of its difficulty level with the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). Numerical results are reported.
