The study of the relationship between economic development and grassland degradation in Northwest China

摘要

This thesis uses Gansu, Qinhai, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region as an example and uses the EKC model to analyse the relationship between economic development and grassland degeneration in northwest pasturing area in the nearly 30 years. The consequence of the study indicate that the relationship between economic development and grassland degeneration in northwest pasturing area appropriate for the EKC model. According to the forecast, the rate of degeneration of Qinhai province will near the top of the curve. The rate of degeneration of Xinjiang province present declining trend. Comparing the model with the primary industry output value of three provinces. In order to realize synchronous development between economy and grassland resources, our government should formulate a valid policy that adapt to the special culture and geographic feature in Northwest China.
