Research was conducted in a tributary of the Yellow River, Wei River. Streamflow at Huaxian station during the period of 1960-2010 were applied to identify the trends and abrupt changes by using Mann-Kendall test, cumulative anomaly method, sequential cluster method and double mass curve analysis in the Wei River Basin. Results show that abrupt change of the annual runoff at Huaxian station of Wei River Basin occur in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. The main cause of the abrupt change of runoff is climate change and the impact of human activities.
