Consumer demand for more convenient, fresher, and better tasting food calls for better, cheaper, clearer, and safer packaging. Nanomaterials have been demonstrated to possess novel characteristics that can be applied in developing new packaging materials with better properties than packaging produced with only single polymer or multilayer laminated products. In this paper, polypropylene (PP)/montmorillonite (MMT) nanocomposite with malaeted anhyadre as a compatibilizer (Maleic anhydride (MAH)) and degradable additive were prepared by using twin screw extruder. The performances of PP/MMT nanocomposite (lOOum thick films), in terms of mechanical and thermal properties were investigate. All results were compared and the influence of MMT contents on the final properties were observed and reported. Incorporation of MMT nanoclay increased tensile strength of the nanocomposite by 15 MPa compare to neat PP, similarly thermal stability of the nanocomposite have been improved.
