Grain refinement is an effective approach to enhancestrength of metallic materials. However, the ultrafinegrained (UFG) materials having grain sizes smaller than 1μm generally have a limited ductility due to occurrence ofearly plastic instability. On the other hand,some studiesreported that UFG materials of face-centered cubic (FCC)alloys with low stacking fault energy showed goodbalances between strength and ductility. In the presentstudy, mechanical properties of Cu-Zn alloys with fullyrecrystallized UFG microstructures were investigated forunderstanding the mechanisms of better mechanicalproperties.
