β-ype Ti-29Nb-13Ta-4.6Zr mass% alloy (TNTZ) composed of non-toxic and nonallergic elements hasbeen developed. This alloy exhibits excellent corrosion resistance and biocompatibility along with lowYoung's modulus; thereby it has been investigated for next-generation biomedical application [1]. However,the mechanical strength of this alloy is still insufficient for practical use. Various thermo-mechanicaltreatments have been performed on the TNTZ alloy in order to enhance its strength by inducing α-and/orω-phase precipitation [2]. However, the Young's modulus of this alloy is also increased by theseprecipitations since they show higher Young's modulus than βphase.
