High temperature application of Ti- alloys is limited by its poor oxidation resistance over650°C. One way to overcome this obstacle is application of TiAl-based intermetallic coatings.These coatings could be manufactured by various thermal spray processes, where pre-alloyedpowders may be used as feedstock material. Nevertheless, high cost and technical difficultiesrelated to fabrication and spraying is a reason for searching new manufacturing paths, e.g.spraying of Ti- and Al-based powders and further heat treatment.
