Carbon tax or carbon emissions trading: the choice of China's path

In recent years, global climate warming is accelerating. Energy saving and emissions reduction receive more and more attention. As the world's second largest emitter of greenhouse gases, China faces great pressure on reducing emissions. Carbon tax and carbon emissions trading are the main measures internationally. This paper introduces carbon tax and carbon emissions trading abroad, compares the characteristics between them, and then proposes that China should adopt different measures in different times. In the short term, China could levy carbon tax. But in the long run, carbon emissions trading should be the choice.
