The current research program at USPOULTRY has a long and productive history. The program was started over 50 years ago by the Southeastern Poultry & Egg Association (SEPEA) in response to the need of the poultry industry for research directed toward solving the most important problems facing the industry. Over these five decades the program has advanced in size, scope, and organization to become an indispensable asset of the US poultry industry and has helped the industry overcome many of the hurdleswhich impaired its development and success.
