Karun River is one of the most water rivers that flow on the south-west of Iran and it has shaped civilization, culture and economy of Khozestan region for many years. This river continues and arrived to the Persian Gulf with two waterways including Bahmanshir and Arvand River on the border of Iran and Iraq. Due to the distance, these rivers are under Tidal range of Persian Gulf. In the recent years, because of less water flow besides developing of upstream demands and consumptions, Tidal flux and salinity intrusion have had some considerable problems on water supplying of Abadan city and big agricultural area in this region. On the other hands, development of river transportation is very impor taut. In this paper,with studying reasons of salinity intrusion, reasonable site of dam and river lock was determined and effects were investigated and discussed. With construction of this dam, besides salinity control under tidal range, permanent navigation and reservoir of fresh water will be prepared.
