Effect of Trace Element Strontium on Serum Indexes in the Blood of Rats with Type I Diabetic

This paper is to investigate the influence of trace element strontium on the content of blood glucose, glycated hemoglobin, triglycerides, non-esterified fatty acid and total cholesterol in type I diabetes rats' blood. Methods: Adult Wistar rats weighing 220～250g, half male and half female were used in the experiment. One-time intraperitoneal injection of Streptozotocin (STZ) 60mg/kg was administrated to rats. Three days later, the rats that have fasting blood glucose more than 16.7 mmol/L were the diabetes model rats (DM rats). Then DM rats were randomly divided into group A, rats drinking mineral water with Sr 2mg/L; group B, rats drinking mineral water with Sr 4mg/L; group C, rats drinking mineral water with Sr 6mg/L; group D, rats drinking mineral water with Sr 8mg/L and DM group rats drinking tap water, 32 rats in each group (N = 32). 8 rats in each group after the first month, the second month, the third month, and the fourth month were randomly killed and the blood was collected. Then the blood was used for evaluation of blood glucose, glycosylated hemoglobin, triglycerides, non-esterified fatty acid and total cholesterol.
