Alloy 718, a kind of Ni-Fe-based superalloy, is widely served in gas turbine industries and petrochemical industries etc.due to its attractive comprehensive properties. Normally, the microstructure with refined grain which can be realized throughthe hot-forging process is needed due to its influence on fatigue and creep behaviors etc. The pre-existing δ-Ni3Nb hinders thegrain growth fiercely during the hot-forging process. Therefore, the control of the precipitation of δ-Ni3Nb phase beforehot-forging is required. In the present work, we focus on the precipitation behavior of δ-Ni3Nb phase and hope that the obtainedresults could provide the necessary information for the prediction of the microstructure of superalloy 718 after hot-forging.
