HISTOPATHOLOGICAL INVESTIGATIONS IN GILLS OF CULTIVATED Rachycentron Canadian AT DIFFERENT SALINITIES

This paper presents preliminary data on the occurrence of histopathological changes in juvenile Cobia's gills, Rachycentron canadum, under influence of the different salinities in a controlled environment at the Semiarid University in Mossoro, Rio Grande do Norte State, Brazil.The fish with an average weight of 150 g underwent salinities 4, 7, 15, 25 and 35 g.L-1 for fifty-six days culture. In each animal studies were performed in fresh gills to an immediate identification of potential pathogens, and tissue sampling proceduresin the laboratory, and histopathological evaluation.
