摘要

It is very important to identify inrush and fault in transformer protection. Regarding to traditional method shortcomings, a new method about using DWT identify fault and its type from inrush has been proposed. It is simple and reliable to microprocessor differential protection. This method respectively identified inrush and the type of fault about single-phase and three phase transformer through modeling and simulation. The simulation result shows the effect and reliability of this new method.
