KMS adoption in Malaysian technology industries: The indirect impacts of management support and commitment

This paper investigates the impacts of management support and commitment on the adoption of KMS in Malaysian technology industries. In addition to the two major constructs of the technology acceptance model (TAM). a model was developed by incorporating the management support and commitment variable and other elements, influenced by this variable, on the extent of KMS adoption. The analysis of data collected from a survey of 108 managers suggests that the effects of management support and commitment on the extent of KMS adoption are only indirect through the mediation of other variables such as knowledge classification and knowledge sharing culture, which has important theoretical implications to the KMS adoption literature, as well as practical implications to the management in the firms.
