A theoretical model is proposed to study the effect of confinement at nanoscale on diffusion of ionic fluids. A system considered here is a molten KCl salt having K~+ and Cl~- as its constituents. The theoretical model is built on the consideration that confinement affects the molecular motion. Effect of compression due to charged confining walls on these self diffusion of components K~+ and Cl~- has been studied. The variation in self diffusion coefficient as a function of distance from the charged wall has been analyzed. As one moves towards the charged confining wall from the centre of the channel, the self diffusion coefficient is observed to have large variations owing to layering. There is strong correlation observed between the layers of the two components and diffusion.
