A study on multiscale modeling approach for social systems: Multiscale integration of energy and mobility models

IoT and other developments are creating opportunities such as ability to connect heterogeneous systems. This allows us to create concepts like Society 5.0. Objectives of Society 5.0, except specific ones, are connection of cyberspace and physical space (i.e. CPS: Cyber Physical Systems) and obtaining new values. Integration of several systems and creation of model of them, bring need in new modeling approaches. Multiscale modeling can illuminate some light on the current problem, since it is based on dividing problem into several scales and designing different model on each of them. In this paper we provide an explanation of multiscale mobility model and give ideas about how it can be integrated with energy sector model. Energy and mobility sectors have explicit and implicit relations in several aspects. Therefore, we believe that building multiscale model of mobility sector and connecting it with model of energy sector, can help to identify values which can be gained by integration.
