A percolation based model for ATC simulation

摘要

ATC (Air Traffic Control) can be considered as a complex system presenting a global behavior which can not be deduced from the behavior of its elementary components. We develop in this paper a new approach using percolation theory to model the SOC (Self Organized Criticality) observed in the ATC. Our theoretical model is a systemic approach taking into account the phase transition phenomenon and leading to a more realistic simulation of the ATC. We show the existence of a critical density of sector's congestion on the controlled airspace at which important delays occur in the whole system.
