Economic aspects of transport development in Bulgaria under contemporary conditions

The paper presents the most important economic aspects of the transport development in Bulgaria under the conditions of market economy and the European integration. A number of different problems of transport concerning the structural reform and privatization have been examined. The development of transport in Bulgaria on the base of competition and market economy principles has been analyzed. The mechanisms of behavior on the transport market in compliance with the international norms as well as how to achieve harmonization of the transport activities with the criteria of the European Union have been examined.
