The increasing demand for high speed data communications and providing fiber optic network connectivity in inner city cores proved to be more challenging than previously though. Disruptive and expansive methods of digging up the streets and placing multi- duct structure delayed many service providers in delivering their services to end users and created havoc in the cities. The sewer system has been designed and built as a network. Revolutionary idea to utilize that network, that is the most extensive open-access conduit network in any city, and place fiber optic cable attached to the top wall of the pipe started a new trend. This has become a preferred method of installations for cities that want to leverage their existing infrastructure, minimize disruptions and create additional revenue.
