TREATMENT OF THE NEUROLOGICAL AND PHYSICAL EFFECTS OF BIRTH CANAL TRAUMA OF FOALS AND ADULT HORSES BY ACUPUNCTURE, CHIROPRACTIC, OSTEOPATHY AND NEURAL PROLOTHERAPY. SADDLE DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS
Birth canal trauma theory: The key primary impacts of birth canal trauma are cranial thoracic spinal and ribcage trauma, sacroiliac and pelvic muscle attachment strain. The spinal trauma brings with it nervous system dysfunction involving abnormal axial and peripheral muscle tension and abnormal afferent sensory signalling. With increasing age the secondary complications progressively become more established, creating greater and greater pathology and dysfunction. Abnormal posture and asymmetry are a common consequence.
