1 Introduction Faults in overhead transmission lines are more likely to happen due to lightning, falling trees and insulators breakdown. The electrical power is transmitted either by single circuit system or double circuit system. Short circuit faults are quite common and in a double circuit system there remains a scope of crossover short-circuit in which two phases of different circuits are involved. Identification of such faults and determining their location is a challenging task.
