Oscillatory convective instability in a porous medium due to horizontal magnetic field was studied using the Darcy-Lapwood-Brinkman model with Boussinesq approximation is used to study linear stability analysis. Finite amplitude solutions are obtained for force-free boundary conditions. An explicit expression at the onset of convection in terms of leading parameters of the system is obtained.
