Forest fires in Indonesia occur almost every year. The Ijen Crater Nature Park and The Baluran National Park area are on fire almost every 3-5 years, so the area of the fire and the cause of the fire are not known. Forest fires cause soil nutrients at the surface of the soil decrease in both quantity and quality, so that plant growth and development will be hampered. The objective of this study was to determine the differences of soil nitrogen (N) level in burned and non-burned land in the forests of Ijen Crater Nature Park and the Baluran National Park. The method used is the Kjeldahl method. The results showed that the amount of soil nitrogen in burned land was lower than non-burned land.
