It is necessary to build a technological roadmap of physical surveys for the identification of coastal erosion mechanisms and coastal topographic changes. Therefore, in order to build coastal monitoring systems, it needs to be divide into detailed physical investigations. It lists physical elements that identify sediment transport mechanisms, and suggests these systems to analyze three physical elements according to their characteristics; (1) elements related to changes in shoreline and beach profiles as an indirect result of sediment transport; (2) physical elements of hydrographic survey items, such as waves, wave-induced currents, and continuous ocean currents; and (3) suspended sediment concentration as a direct result of sediment transport.
