Expressive skill is a verbal language skill to interact with other people. The ability of children with autism to express ideas in their mind can indicate that their receptive, as well as productive ability, works effectively. The purpose of this research is to describe the forms of language units that children with autism can produce as their expressive skill in the learning process at SLB Negeri Surakarta. Data in the forms of language units produced by the children as responses to initiating acts performed by their teachers were collected. The collected data were then analyzed to classify them by the forms of language units produced by the children. The results show that the children with autism can produce word, phrase, clause and sentence as responses to their teacher stimulating actions. Moreover, the analysis also shows that the teacher performed different strategies in resulting in the different forms of language unit.
