This paper proposes two-sided chain acceptance sampling plans (TSChSP-1) based on truncated lifetime for exponential distribution. The TSChSP-1 considers preceding and succeeding lots while the chain acceptance sampling plans (ChSP-1) only considers the preceding lots. There are four phases involved in developing the TSChSP-1 which are (i) identifying the design parameters, (ii) implementing the operating procedures, (iii) deriving the probability of lot acceptance and the probability of failure and, (iv) measuring the performance. In this paper, the performances of an acceptance sampling are measured based the minimum sample size. The finding shows that the minimum sample depends on the values of specified constant, number of preceding lots and consumer's risk. That is, the minimum sample size decreases when the specified constant, number of preceding lots and consumer's risk increase.
