摘要

Although the WIC program has played an important role in reducing food insecurity and improve women's and children's health outcomes, little research has been conducted on the WIC program from the marketing and consumer research perspective. To fill in the above gap, this study attempts to examine the effect of time pressure on WIC participants’redemption behavior. The data obtained from Virginia Department of Health Services(VADHS)include Virginia WIC participants’profile data and their real-time EBT redemption data. Two models were employed to conduct the analysis. The first one(Model 1)divided each benefit cycle into three sub-cycles and the second one(Model 2)divided each benefit cycle into four sub-cycles.The dependent variable used is percentage of redeemed amount in each sub-cycle to the total benefits in that cycle. We used the generalized least squares(GLS)technique to estimate our models.
