The convergence of human, animals and environment has created a new dynamic in which the health of each group is tightly interconnected.1 The American Veterinary Medical Association One Health Task Force, stated that the challenges stemming from thisdynamic are demanding, profound and unprecedented.1 There are approximately 1,461 human recognized diseases, of which 60% are multi-host pathogens, thus move across species. Furthermore approximately 75% of new human emerging diseases over the past three decades, have been zoonotic in origin.1 A large proportion of the emerging infectious diseases has been caused by pathogens with a wildlife origin.
