The linear matrix inequality approach is proposed to linear Metzlerian systems control design, mounting linear quadratic constraints into design conditions. Coupling together the set of linear matrix inequalities warranting a strictly Metzle-rian structure, and the additional inequality guaranteing asymptotic stability of the controlled system, the design conditions are outlined to construct the closed-loop Metzlerian scheme with a positive control law gain. Novelty is made in constructing an LMI structure to realize the diagonal stabilizability of strictly Metz-lerian linear continuous-time systems. The proposed approach is numerically illustrated.
