FuelCell Energy, Inc. (FCE) in cooperation with Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (APCI) and the Orange County Sanitation District (OCSD) is currently completing the third year of successfully demonstrating a tri-generation of hydrogen, heat, and power from at high temperature fuel cell. This first of a kind demonstration unit has been operating over two years, and continues to provide renewable hydrogen for fuel cell vehicles in southern California. While there were initial start-up challenges due to the grid interconnectivity, these challenges have been addressed and currently the unit is operating smoothly and reliably on anaerobic digester gas (ADG). This presentation will review progress to date and test results for this project and discuss potential improvements for the system in future years.
