Focus on 5 technologies: (1) Communications; (2) Sensors & Sensor Fusion; (3) Positioning; (4) Driver Monitoring; (5) High Performance Computing. Format: short expert presentations followed by interactive Q&A with audience Outcome: (1) Communications: no decision yet on who is the winner (DSRC or C-V2X/5G) in the "one-takes-it-all" competition. Many open questions around performance, conformance, and interoperability. (2) Sensors & Sensor Fusion: need for more than one sensor (quality, redundancy) but no obvious choice which one(s). Standardization difficult due to market competition and variety of possible approaches. (3) Positioning: high precision localization provided by precision GNSS. real-time kinematic (RTK) systems dramatically improve GNSS localization accuracy. ADS requires GNSS as part of sensor suite; (4) Driver Monitoring: not just driver but all occupants, for safer and more personalized ride experience; (5) High Performance Computing: (de)centralized, distributed → centralized and hybrid, also depending on software.
