Cigarette Butts Water Extracts as Corrosion Inhibitor in Oil Field Acidizing Fracture Using Different Metal Chlorides Intensifies

The corrosion inhibitive effect of four metal chlorides (CoCl_2, NiCl_2, CrCl_2 and CuCl_2) intensifiers in cigarette butts extracts are contrasted in 15% (wt%) hydrochloric acid with N80 steel at 90°C. Weight loss, polarization, impedance, electrochemical noise and scanning electron microscopy results are all shown that the most corrosion inhibitive effect of inhibitors is CuCl_2 intensifiers, the next is CrCl_2, NiCl_2 and CoCl_2, and the last is cigarette butts extracts. The corrosion inhibitive efficiency of CuCl_2 intensifiers can reach 94.2% with the addition of 5% (wt%) and the four metal chlorides all do their intensive job.
