This paper describes the use of Real Time Models (RTM) to produce virtual temperature sensor telemetry during the JWST system level test. This approach was used to predict the temperatures of some key optical elements which lacked sensors. The real-time models used correlated model parameters along with incoming telemetry to solve a set of energy balance equations to predict temperatures throughout all phases of the test. Uncertainty budgets were developed and used when evaluating hardware gradient and contamination constraints during the test. The RTM/Virtual sensor approach was key in meeting schedule while ensuring hardware safety during the JWST system level test.
