The first criterion for designing an effective radar is its range resolution. Modern radars are utilizing MIMO (Multi Input Multi Output) functionality for high resolution and greater data collection. To support MIMO functionality within the spectral usage requirements and elimination of Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) due to multiple wave transition, pseudo-orthogonal code sets are preferable. An analysis of common pulse compression waveforms such as polyphase, LFM and NLFM waveforms for suitability in the pseudo-orthogonal waveform is desirable. For a simultaneous transmit and simultaneous receive operational mode to be realized without sacrificing range resolution, the waveforms being transmitted must be isolated from each other. When calculating the isolation and electromagnetic interference between waveforms, the highest magnitude of the cross-correlation is the determining factor. Indeed, in this paper Firefly Algorithm based Pseud-Orthogonal Code Sets (POCS) are used and compared all the Pseudo-orthogonal code sets PSLR values.
