A novel compact ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna with dual independent tunable band-notches is proposed. By adding a V-shaped strip connected to double annular slots via a hole to the end of the feeding-line, and etching a pair of L-shaped slots on the radiation patch, dual-band notched function in the WiMAX/WLAN is achieved. Results show that the designed antenna, with compact size of 20 × 36mm2,has a impedance bandwidth of 3-10.8GHz for VSWR<;2, except two frequency notched bands of 3.2-3.8 and 5-5.9GHz. Besides, this antenna exhibits stable antenna gain and good omnidirectional radiation patterns in the H-plane.
