This work sought to implement an efficient and sustainable lighting solution through the retrofit of the corridor lighting system of the Engineering School at Fluminense Federal University (UFF). One of the analyses carried out, highlights the energy and luminous efficiency, environmental comfort, the adequacy of the system with the current standards, as well as the impact provided by the exchange of technology in the CO2emissions. A study case is presented using the LED lamps technology and the results shows that changes can be produce a reduction of 34% of the electric energy consumption equivalent to approximately 5 kg of CO2avoided per year for each modernized corridor, besides the increase of 198 % in illuminance. Some figures represent this retrofit lighting work.
