This paper presents an attempt at an indirect assessment of accuracy and correction of machining errors of a WaterJet CNC machine tool, being a water jet cutter, by trial machining of a test workpiece. The trial machining was performed with different feed rates. It was attempted to reduce the values of the errors generated by the WaterJet cutter by adjusting the position gain factors of axis X and Y drives in iterative trial machining runs. The accuracy of the WaterJet cutter was assessed indirectly by measuring the rectilinearity of the test workpiece surfaces. The measurements were completed with a coordinate measuring machine (CMM).
