摘要

Sugarcane bagasse (SB) was utilized into biochar by pyrolysis and used as adsorbent for methylene blue (MB) dye removal. SB biochar was produced at temperature 500 °C (SB500) and was characterized by moisture and ash content analysis, pH zero charge and Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectroscopy. The FTIR spectra of SB500 showed that the organic part of SB500 was mainly composed of hemicellulose, cellulose and lignin with different functional groups such as amines, phenols, carboxylic acids, esters and ethers for MB dye adsorption. The optimum adsorbent dosage of SB500 is 0.8g and reach equilibrium within 180 minutes with 5.9825 mg/g for adsorption capacity of MB dye. The kinetics of adsorption was preferable described by pseudo-second order while adsorption equilibrium was represented by Langmuir isotherm.
