Breast tumor detection in the microwave imaging with oblique projection and Rao detectors

摘要

In this paper, we propose a new approach for breast tumor detection based on a combination of oblique projection and the Rao detector to leverage performance and complexity. The oblique projection is first employed to reduce the cumbersome clutter. Afterward, the Rao detector is employed to detect the existence of a tumor. Simulation results show that the proposed approach attains similar and sometimes even superior performance compared with the widespread, yet more complicated Generalized Likelihood Ratio Test (GLRT) detector in various scenarios.
