Standard Qualification Builds have been fabricated via EB-DED, and are presently being designed for L-PBF, in accordance with requirements proposed for AWS D20.1. NNL considers that, ideally, 1. Such standard qualification build designs will be made available on-line for use by AM component purchasers and fabricators; and 2. Changes to such standard qualification build designs, and/or the production of novel qualification build designs, will be allowed by the applicable standards, so long as the design intent for the builds is satisfied.
