Natural resources in Indonesia has huge potential to be tapped and has been recognized by the international community. All the biological richness, especially herbal medicine has the potential to be used in industry to health. That potential has been extensively researched and utilized but not many are integrated with synthetic biology. One effort that is very important and urgent is to prepare college-colleges across the country of Indonesia to have a scientist (expert) who has expertise in the field of herbal medicine and synthetic biology as a field of interdisciplinary study such as botany, biotechnology, evolution, biology molecular, systems biology, biophysics, computational and genetic engineering. Such problems can be solved using a comprehensive study of biology and by increasing the maximum involvement of human resources in the area. Empowerment biologists and institutions in mastering science study herbal medicine and synthetic biology is a key strategy that should be targeted by the state to resolve the problems related.
