New Research Progresses on Hot Stamping Technology of High-Performance Sheet Metal

This paper introduces the research work progresses of "High Performance Sheet Metal Forming Team" from Huazhong University of Science & Technology, in hot stamping technology and its application. Aiming at the basic theory and engineering application of hot stamping, the team has carried out lots of innovative researches in materials, process and equipment for hot stamping of high-performance sheet metal since 2008. The representative achievements in many aspects of the team are illustrated, including high strength steel hot stamping process strategies with tailored properties, conductive heating technology and equipment, constitutive and fracture modeling of multiphase, tribological behavior in different process conditions, and non-destructive testing method for hot stamped parts. In addition, the hot stamping of aluminum alloy and high strength steel tube is still developed to meet the industrial requirements.
